For quite a long time now i’ve been seeing recipes pop up for slow cooker fudge on my face book news feed. Today we needed to make a present for a chocolate loving friends birthday, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to road test the recipe.
500 g of chocolate (I used Whittaker’s almond and milk chocolate)
1 395 g tin of condensed milk (full fat variety)
1 tablespoon of butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Break up the chocolate and place all of the ingredients in your slow cooker on a low heat with the lid off.Stir every 15 minutes with a plastic/silicon or metal spatula (not a wooden spoon). Continue to stir every 15 minutes for 2 hours.
Pour into a slice tin lined with grease proof paper.
Put aside to set, either in the fridge, or if you are in chilly new zealand at the moment like me, out on your bench. After approximately an hour it should be set, and once set, slice in bite size squares.
The beauty of this recipe is you can really use any type of chocolate you like. I used almond but you could use dark chocolate, or add smarties or m & m’s or nuts, or even make a rocky road fudge. Yum!
Have a fabulous weekend!
