Miss Lucy loves Irregular choice

Now it’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Irregular choice, and this morning I was happily scrolling through my facebook feed when a pair of shoes took my breath away. I actually started hyperventilating and shrieked! My husband and kids came running and all I could say was “they have tails”, my family grabbed my IPAD from me and my daugther started jumping up and down (she takes after her mother). And then I heard those magic words from my husband, “i’ll buy you a pair”, and that’s why I love him, he gets my shoe fetish (one of my very many quirks).

So what got shoes got me all in a fluster? The preview of the Alice in Wonderland series from Irregular choice, in particular the Cheshire cat shoes.  These are the flats:

Also available in heels (note the tail again)

I also love the Alice shoe:

Available in store and online on the 26th of February.

It’s a frocktastic friday

I wear dresses just about everyday, I prefer wearing them over any other item of clothing I own. I find now I’m a busy working mum, a dress, novelty brooch and a fabulous pair of shoes (generally heels) is an easy outfit to put together while i’m wrestling to get the kids out the door to school and me to work in the morning. A -line and swing dresses are my go to style because I bottom heavy and small waisted and they suit me best while accentuating my good bits and hiding my wobbly bits.  I’m also a sucker for a novelty print, so the day dress from Victory parade (made by Limb) ticks all the boxes for me.  Stylish, flattering and a little bit quirky, the perfect dress.  I love the variety of animal prints they have in this dress, from dalmatians, bears, cows, zebras, pandas and foxes. Its a frocktastic friday

It’s been a short week here in Auckland with a public holiday on Monday and a busy week too with my kids returning to school on Wednesday. I love having them home for the summer holidays, but we were all ready for the return of school. I spent my first child free day at the gym yesterday, I was so shattered I had to have a little nanna nap to recover!

This weeks frock is from Lindy Bop, one of my favourite sources of affordable reproduction wear. Initially I was going to feature the Clarissa Navy cat print dress which I own and love,

but when I went onto their website I was instantly smitten by the Renee bird print twin set. The print is fabulous and the little jacket to die for!

Shoe of the week

Well those very clever people at Irregular choice have done it again, releasing a range of fabulous shoes with flamingo heels. That’s right the heel is a flamingo and it is swoon worthy!  These are my favourite pair at the moment:

But i’m also in love with these too:

For Christmas my darling sister gave me a fashion fund money box, which was the cutest idea and I have been adding to it every week, but i’m going to have to have to seriously start savings to fund my shoe addiction! Or maybe it would be cheaper to just get therapy, although that wouldn’t be as much fun as a pair of flamingo heels

It’s a frocktastic friday

I love 1940’s styling, so I was besotted when I spotted this gorgeous dress from Hell Bunny courtesy of Unique vintage. Now I work as a consultant and I do alot of sales visits and present at seminars, so i’m always looking for clothes that are professional but still kinda quirky, like me. So I thought this grey plaid dress with it’s faux tie collar and swing a line skirt would be just perfect for work. I find that if I dress up and feel good about  how I look and what i’m wearing it makes me feel confident in my work. qTv86u0VlI_Hell_Bunny_1940s_Style_Grey_Glen_Plaid_Lady_Hay_Swing_Dress

Shoe of the week

it’s been a long while since I posted a shoe of the week. I’ve taken on a second part time job so life got a whole lot busier all of a sudden. I was also lacking inspiration, I hadn’t seen a WOW pair of shoes for a while, but that all changed during the week when I fell in love with the Shirley Bass shoe from Irregular choice. It has rainbows, a lucite heel and fluffy white clouds, could this be the perfect shoe for me? My heart broke when I discovered my size had sold out, I’m wishing really hard that they come back in stock soon!

It’s a frocktastic Saturday

I was super excited this morning to receive a parcel from Lindy Bop. I’d been covetting the Claudine dress for a while now, and when it recently went on sale I knew I had to buy it, and boy I wasnt’ disappointed! I think it has to be my favourite purchase from Lindy bop to date. The fit is amazing, it’s so flattering and such a fabulous style, I just love it.

It’s dressy enough for work, but will also work for weekends as well. Paired with a Poison apple brooch from Deer arrow and a cute pair of Mod cloth flats and i’m ready for action!

A flamboyance of flamingos

This post is inspired by a recent article on Apartment therapy, a homage of sorts to acknowledge the passing of Donald Featherstone, the creator of the pink plastic flamingo. Apartment therapy featured DIY flamingo inspired projects. My favourite being the taxidermy flamingo, the flamingo sprinkler and the flamingo table piece, fabulous!

So I thought I would feature some of my favourite flamingo buys at the moment. I love the flamngo print hepburn dress from Lady V London, it’s just so pretty! The print is also available in a wide variety of styles.

SS15HEPflamingo-01If you are looking for just a touch of flamingo you could consider these brooches from Vintage Pip:

Kate Spade has a wonderful collection of Flamingo inspired bags at the moment, my favourite is this gorgeous purse:

And finally there has to be shoes, I love Miss L fires flamingo sandals:
